Yeah, but what's that thing sticking up in the Hezbollah one that looks like a split phallus? It's just to the left of the arm holding the gun. I always found that puzzling.
Well, Daniel, Hezbollah fighters go around brandishing AK-47s and bullying or killing innocent civilians, especially women and children. They want women to hide themselves and think that any woman who shows her face is a whore.
Religion and ideology aside, isn't it obvious that these guys have masculinity... uh...issues?
Solomon: I was thinking that any group that has a logo like the little mermaid's couldn't be all bad. After all, Disney movies and Disney characters are so treacly sweet. But then I remembered: Farfour.
Yeah, but what's that thing sticking up in the Hezbollah one that looks like a split phallus?
It's the right part of the "lah" in "Allah" -- I can't paste the character here but look at the word. The main chunk of the flag is stylized text spelling out "Hezbollah" It's actually a very elegant design, although I'm not into the color.
There is no doubt that there is phallic symbolism at play, though totally subconscious. The prodruding, hard right arm with the AK-47 or whatever. An automatic weapon, shoots bullets in rapid succession. What is the favourite expression of joy in the Arab world? Rapidly shooting guns or rifles into the air. Anybody ever wondered at the not-so-hidden significance of such habits? Repressed sexuality, Foucault taught us, cannot stay repressed forever. It finds other expressions, other outlets.
There is a resemblance. Hardly surprising since most Arab anti-Jewish mythology is predicated upon usurpation. And if they did rip it off, they ripped it off a fictional work. Fiction of a fiction, what does that make Hezbolla?
Actually, Solomon, there are several phallic forms in the Mermaid poster, especially one in the middle, but it doesn't look split. How did we ever get stuck on this topic. You infidels!

Reminds me of the original Little Mermaid poster:

Thanks, Joanne! I may never be able to look at a Hezbollah flag again without laughing.
"We're Hezbollah. And we have serious reproductive problems."

Joanne, I was thinking more of the hidden "split phallus." Look for the hidden object in the picture I pasted (I thought everyone knew this one).

...I've always heard that the Hezbo logo was ripped off from the image used in the original "Exodus" movie poster. Check it out...

....pulp fiction? (one can only hope)...
There is a resemblance.
No one seems to have ever noticed that the arms in the Exodus poster spell out "Allah"! That seems like a real missed opportunity for some rioting.
I hate to dwell on this, but the phallus even looks circumcized, which would of course be appropriate.
But now that someone mentions it, if you look carefully, the whole design looks like stylized Arabic script.
