Following are excerpts from a speech delivered by Dr. Walid Al-Rashudi, head of the Department of Islamic Studies at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, which aired on Al-Aqsa TV on February 29, 2008.
Walid Al-Rashudi: One of the important things that we must tell people is that what is going on in Palestine today is a real holocaust. This is the real holocaust. A holocaust is not the burning of 50-60 Jews in Germany or Switzerland, but the Jews continue to call it the Holocaust. In case you don't know, let me tell you that more than 90% of the Muslims in the world do not know that the Jews receive reparations from Germany and Switzerland for the so-called Holocaust affair. We believe that there was indeed a holocaust, but how many died? 50-60 people? Afterwards, they used it to blackmail these two countries.
So what are we supposed to say in the face of the Gaza holocaust? What compensation will satisfy us? By Allah, we will not be satisfied even if all the Jews are killed.
No comment necessary, other than to say that Professor Al-Rashudi's views are neither surprising nor uncommon among even educated Middle Easterners.
Note the contempt and the implicit promise: While the real Holocaust killed only 50-60 Jews, we, Muslims, will kill all of them. There is precedent in the Quran and a good Muslim follows the letter of that holy book.

...maybe we can get him a visiting fellowship at Columbia or Georgetown.
even my german teacher tells me that that the number of people that died in the holocust is smaller than what is circulating.
its really debatable...
but whats surprising is that the number of people called antisemitic is rising even when the dollar is declining.... what a pity. america should focus on its economy and leave history.
But Condi Rice said Saudi Arabia is one of the "moderate voices in the Middle East"..

There's an upside to the declining dollar - if we go down, we'll drag all of our wonderful Gulf allies down with us.
"even my german teacher tells me that that the number of people that died in the holocust is smaller than what is circulating."
How many did he/she say? How did it come up? Why do you care?
because....I wanted to state that not only arabs denia or say the number is less,,, other people from other ethnic backgrounds say that also...>
But the Saudis are our friends, right? Imagine what our enemies are teaching their kids........

Oh, this I know. After all, we have Holocaust deniers here, too. It's not against the law, it's just socially unacceptable. It's like saying the world is flat combined with some sort of evil motivation.
There are also people, serious people, who question exact numbers. That will always be up for debate and is in fact studied with regularity. I believe William Shirer in his Rise and Fall of the Third Reich puts the number at something like 4.5 to 5 million (it's been a long time since I've read it). There's nothing wrong with that. It just depends on what the intent is. Is it a matter of intellectual curiosity, or is there some sort of wicked agenda involved?
Also, are we wondering about exact numbers, or are we questioning the entire nature of the genocide? Or even whether it was a genocide at all? There's also a difference between saying, OK, it was somewhere between 5 million and 7 million, and saying no, it was only 100,000...or 50 or 60. These numbers are so far off there must be something else at play. Mr. Al-Rashudi above has an agenda, that's why he's such a discgrace.
Arabs seem particularly to indulge in absolute denial. It's endemic and wide spread in society. It's culturally acceptable. There's a reason, an agenda behind all that denial of reality, and it's nothing good.
There's also the uncomfortable problem of Arab involvement with Hitler. That is also a FACT of history, it will not go away, and must be confronted along with the undeniable fact of the Holocaust.
By the way millions of people besides Jews were murdered by the Nazis - something like 5 million Gypsies, not to mention gays, dissidents, disabled people - it was a horror. A horror -
The number of gypsies who died in the Holocaust is put between 200,000 to 500,000.

Sorry for the error.
About Arab involvement with Hitler read Matthias Küntzel:

"Anti-Semitism based on the notion of a Jewish world conspiracy is not rooted in Islamic tradition but, rather, in European ideological models. The decisive transfer of this ideology to the Muslim world took place between 1937 and 1945 under the impact of Nazi propaganda. Important to this process were the Arabic-language service broadcast by the German shortwave transmitter in Zeesen between 1939 and 1945, and the role of Haj Amin el-Husseini, the Mufti of Jerusalem, who was the first to translate European anti-Semitism into an Islamic context. Although Islamism is an independent, anti-Semitic, antimodern mass movement, its main early promoters - the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the Mufti and the Qassamites in Palestine - were supported financially and ideologically by agencies of the German National Socialist government."
Today, the staple Palestinian argument is that they had no responsibility whatsoever for what happened to the Jews. But they did. They bear at least the same responsibility as as every country that ever refused to accept Jews who were looking to get out of Europe.
I said "at least" because there is a strong case to be made that they were not merely indifferent bystanders. They were actively engaged in obstructing Jewish survival. They cannot pretend the innocence of ignorance when they were directly addressed by the Peel Report, in 1937, with a warning of what may befall the Jews.
Someone should remind this "saudi scholar" that if the US or India or Israel suffer a nuke attack, the "holy" cities of makkah/mecca and its kabba, medina and qom WILL be obliterated in retaliation.
That means NO MORE HAJJ EVER AGAIN.
Former presidental candidate congressman Tom Tancredo of Colorado said that the US should wipe out mecca in response to a nuke attack.
CAIR demanded a retraction, and to his credit, Congressman Tancredo REFUSED.
Hypothetical U.S. response to a nuclear attack

The only thing that bothered me about Tancredo is that he had as a campaign advisor, bay buchanan, the sister of the notorious racist anti-semite (as described by the great William F. Buckley), patrick buchanan.
This fellow is not an attractive man...
