My comment was ironic. The only space where free speech is completely free in the Arab and Muslim countries is where the defamation of Jews and Israel is concerned. Try to say a good word on behalf of Jews and see what happens to you.
Here is an example of the far-flung wages of "free speech" in the lands of Araby:
when she insults muslims all the time this newspaper found it free speech, and when qaradawi responded to her its considered terrorism and seriuos security measures should be taken. cool.
Arabian: You don't see a difference between criticizing Muslims and issuing a religious instruction to murder a person?
Is there a difference between a spoken insult (let's say) and an act of violence?
There is a little ditty that children in the West are taught from childhood:
STICKS AND STONES MAY BREAK MY BONES,
BUT WORDS WILL NEVER HURT ME.
It is meant to teach kids that they should not be too hurt when they are insulted because these are only words which cannot do violence. Is there any equivalent for such a proverb in your culture? Can you cite it?
Is it your contention that Qaradawi issuing a fatwa for her murder is "just words"?
You mean you don't believe what the news is saying?
I have a question: Do you practice similar healthy scepticism when your Arab media news "reports" atrocities perpetrated by Jews, like deliberately murdering kids in Gaza, or using Muslim kids' blood for their holiday cakes?
What is the punishment in Islam for MUslims or non-Muslims, who "publicly curse Allah, His Prophet, the Koran, the history of Islam, and the Islamic nation.”?
"Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan, issued a fatwa that prohibits vaccination of children claiming it is a conspiracy of the Jews and Freemasons."
"Indian Muslim scholars issued a fatwa of death against Taslima Nasreen, an exiled controversial Bangladeshi writer. Majidulla Khan Farhad of Hyderabad-based Majlis Bachao Tehriq issued the fatwa at the Tipu Sultan mosque in Kolkata after Juma prayers as saying Taslima has defamed Islam and announced “unlimited financial reward” to anybody who would kill her."

ofcourse no, its not just words.
but where are the religous instructions of killing that you are taking about?
there is no real fatwa of killing wafa sultan from qaradawi. if there was then it will cirrculate in the media and all people will now about it.
the newspaper you cited, played on the linguistic area and made it "appeare" that qaradawi issued a fatwa of killing wafa sultan.
if your not convinced then get a clear statment of killing or harming wafa sultan.

Salman Rushdie has a death sentence fatwa (religious edit) issued by the islamofascist ayatollah khomeni for Rushdies writing a book of fiction.
