Dear Ahmed,
I don't know if you remember me, but in October 2001 I met you in Evin prison. I am an American-Iranian and the day I met you was the day I got released, but you helped me get aquatinted and showed me the showers and if I would have stayed we were going to be roommates. You saw me talking spanish to one of the other inmates and you asked me if I knew Flamenco guitar, I told you I know some and was looking forward to playing guitar with you but a couple of hours later I was freed.
Several months later I recognized you in a book and I knew it was you. I sent you a book and CD on Flamenco guitar, but I was sure that you didn't receive it. Did you? Do you remember me? I would love to hear from you when you have a second, but I wish you all the luck in your new life of freedom.

I came to U.S. and this amazing freedom and i wish the best for the incredible achievements that Mr. Batevi has done for human rights. I do not understand what i read in the NY Times that if the U.S. invades Iran , he will go back and fight the Americans...that i find it difficult to swallow, but this is America, he can say that, but still quite a thing to say..
Daniel, if you aren't already part of Facebook, I suggest you join so you can ask him directly about that. I also find it a strange thing to say considering the fact that it was to the U.S. that he escaped!
IF YOU NEED A SPONSOR, A PLACE TO LIVE (FREE), AND PURSUE YOUR DREAMS, I CAN OFFER THAT TO YOU. I AM OLDER AND HAVE MEANS. NO OBLIGATIONS. JUST BE YOU AND PURSUE YOUR DREAMS. BE KIND TO ME.
