Robert Spencer has picked up the story of the Islamic Society of Boston's plans to broadcast the call to prayer outside the mosque despite their previous assurances that they had no plans to do so: Controversial Boston mosque run by Muslim Brotherhood opens, will broadcast call to prayer over loudspeaker
Sure, the controversy has faded -- except the Muslim American Society is running this mosque. According to a 2004 Chicago Tribune exposé, the Muslim American Society is the name under which the Muslim Brotherhood operates in the United States. Nor does it mention that according to a 1991 Brotherhood memorandum about its strategy in the U.S., it is embarked upon a "grand Jihad" aimed at "eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah's religion is made victorious over all other religions."...
Your caveat in the recent comments on this matter are most appropriately prudent. Jingoism and suggested actions of either violence or vandalism only suits the posture which these subversives desire.
But, nobody should be restrained from, on the contrary, should be encouraed to paying attention to details; easements, zoning exceptions and precedents.
We must consider how deeply the Islamics have studied our processes. Think of every movement and cause seeking even reasonable accomodation; affirmative action hires extended beyond Afro-Americans and Native Americans to Hispanic, Asians, etc.; gay rights, elderlly, females, and the handicapped (note the nobility of these causes).
No, knee-jerk reactions and lip-fanning won't work. Apoplexy is self-made static. Clearly this combat can be waged on the streets where we live; and a modicum of common sense will be a great ally.
Absolutely. People need to make sure that noise ordinances are enforced, for one. I'm given to understand that an entertainment permit was required for the original capping ceremony.
In Hamtramck, the City Council voted to waive noise ordinances for the mosque there, in spite of 600 signatures on a petition against it. That shouldn't be allowed to happen here.
