You try to bring joy to all children, and all they do is toss you out with the rest of the impure garbage...

MEMRITV: Saudi Cleric Muhammad Al-Munajid: Mickey Mouse Must Die!

Following is an excerpt from a religious program featuring Saudi Cleric Muhammad Al-Munajid, which aired on Al-Majd TV on August 27, 2008:

...To view MEMRI TV's Page on Saudi Cleric Muhammad Al-Munajid visit here.

Muhammad Al-Munajid: What is the position of Islamic law with regard to mice? The Shari'a refers to the mouse as "little corrupter," and says it is permissible to kill it in all cases. It says that mice set fire to the house, and are steered by Satan. The mouse is one of Satan's soldiers and is steered by him. If a mouse falls into a pot of food - if the food is solid, you should chuck out the mouse and the food touching it, and if it is liquid - you should chuck out the whole thing. Because the mouse is i-m-p-u-r-e!

According to Islamic law, the mouse is a repulsive, corrupting creature. How do you think children view mice today - after Tom and Jerry? Even creatures that are repulsive by nature, by logic, and according to Islamic law have become wonderful and are loved by children. Even mice. Mickey Mouse has become an awesome character, even though according to Islamic law, Mickey Mouse should be killed in all cases.

Well there you have it.

Ya know, come to think of it, I always had suspicions about Mickey. There was always something... well... infidel about him. You know... little beady eyes and the like.

I just sent Donald Duck, Pluto, Scrooge McDuck to shoot the Saudi cleric.

OK, so Mickey has to go. Maybe they can dispatch Boris Badinov to do the job.

You remember Boris. That's Rocky and Bullwinkle's pal.

I mean, how do you kill a cartoon character? By giving the job to another cartoon character, of course!

memritv translatores, dont know an essential law in arabic language.

by the way the only language in this world that if you read a book a thousands year or more old you can understad it.

in the video the sheik says هذا الميكي
meaning "this mickey"
it means he genralizes through mickey on al mouses.
yes in arabic even the sound of a letter can change the whole sentence meaning.

by the way I assume you know what the shiek means.
that media without previous knowladge on all topics can mislead youth.....as well as elders ofcourse. watching mickey himself is not a problem
.

by the way thanksgod in arabic we dont have a word meaning oral sex, so we want to see them "memritv" inventing an arabic word and translating bill clinton speech. since they invented this meaning of killing mickey.
help us develop arabic.

go on shiek and teach them arabic next time please ...."this mickey" is diffrent than "mickey"

god helps all memri workers.

Road Runner can testify that IEDs don't do it. To kill a toon, you need dip.
______________________

Eddie Valiant: What's that?
Lt. Santino: Remember how they always thought there wasn't a way to kill a toon? Well, Doom found a way. Turpentine, acetone, benzene. He calls it "The Dip."
Judge Doom: I'll catch the rabbit, Mr. Valiant. And I'll try him, convict him, and execute him.
[dips shoe in poison, and cremation smoke starts sizzling out]
Eddie Valiant: Geez.
Greasy: [laughs] That's one dead shoe, eh, boss?
Judge Doom: They're not kid gloves, Mr. Valiant. This is how we handle things down in Toontown. I would think you of all people would appreciate that.

Smart Ass: Hey Judge, what should we do with the wallflower?
[referring to Eddie who is now visible through the hole in the wall]
Judge Doom: [holding Roger by the neck] We'll settle with him later. Right now, I feel like dispensing some justice. Bring me some dip.

To #4 Arabian,

You are a lair, and you know it. I'm an arab too, and you know as well as I do that the translation is correct in every word. And, even those who do not speak arabic would know it from your dishonest comment.

It was a long interview with the cleric and you chose to comment in one word, and even then, you were dishonest, and you know it. As if the only problem in this long interview is the difference between the words "mickey" and "this Mickey"!!. This is so disgusting. Then, you shamelessly decided to change the subject to Clinton's oral sex and forgot about the translation, meaning you people in the west are bad too!!

The problem for you is that this is becoming a famous interview and many people talk about it in newspapers, magazines and forums (west and east). And, no one is complaining about the translation even those who defend the cleric and Islam! In fact you are simply trying to decieve the readers here. And, again they can know your dishonestly by simply reading your comment.

Shame on you, and get a life!

Aidha,

Thank you. We who don't speak Arabic do understand where arabian is coming from and often respond to his disinformation and dissembling, but on the small point of Arabic linguistics, there's not much we can say. However, you very capably pointed out that in the context of arabian's remarks, it doesn't matter.

We who are not Muslims need to do what we can not only to object to the Taqiyya from Islamists posing as civil rights advocates (CAIR, MSA, ISNA, ...) but also to support those brave Muslims who do speak out, such as M. Zuhdi Jasser, Wafa Sultan, Hirsan Ali, Ahmed Mansour, Nonie Darwish, www.reformislam.org (also at muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com), www.arabsforisrael.com and others.

Again, thank you.

Nappy-headed Ho,

I was pleased to read your reply. It means that these Islamists will find it more difficult to spread their lies where there are smart people like you who know where they are coming from.

Now, I was also interested in the names and links you provided and I knew all of them except Dr.Zuhdi Jasser. I went right away to his website, and I spent a lot of time there. So, thank you for letting me know about him.

He says all the right things. But there is one problem with him and people like him(Irshad Manji for example). They are for freedom, tolerance and human rights, but then they say that the fundamentalists are DISTORTING the peaceful religion of Islam, Which is truely dishonest and misleading. I'm a former muslim (at heart since I can not come out and say it to my family, friends and indead anybody in this Arab muslim country), and let me tell you: there is nothing peaceful about Islam, and the Quran is the most antihuman document ever written.

If those "moderates" can find one verse in the Quran that is tolerant, NORMAL moslems (and not just the fundamentlists) will find ten verses to the contrary. And, as there is no Pope in Islam who will decide, then these moderates are simply "nice individuals", and have no power at all, and they are misleading.

I would have respected them if they face the texts head-on, and doubted that whether the Quran is the actual direct word of God. But no, istead they pose as nice muslims and mislead everybody about the nature of the problem we face in the Islamic world. The problem is not with the few, it is with Islam itself.

Thanx and take care..

To Aidah

To #4 Arabian,

You are a lair, and you know it. I'm an arab too, and you know as well as I do that the translation is correct in every word. And, even those who do not speak arabic would know it from your dishonest comment.

1) translation can translate facts only, so I will agree that this translation is right, ofcourse MEMRI wont fall to this trap of not translating things right.
but only if your arabic you will understand the full meaning.

on the other hand the shiekh was talking in genral about media and how it is a threat to people ...I agree the usage of mickey mouse example is ( not wrong, but better use other example so sensitve people wont cry ).

an yes in the end he said "this mickey" should be killed, he didnt say "mickey" should be killed.
which is a way of figurative language that implies generalization.

2) who cares if al mouses are killed or slaughtered, here the aim is to show islamists as terrosists.

Ok if it was a long interview can you bring the transcript or show the full interview, ofcourse no....because things will be clear then that he was talking about the media in genral. this type of showing small parts is used in comedyshow and gossip websites.

The problem for you is that this is becoming a famous interview and many people talk about it in newspapers, magazines and forums (west and east). And, no one is complaining about the translation even those who defend the cleric and Islam! In fact you are simply trying to decieve the readers here. And, again they can know your dishonestly by simply reading your comment.

believe me I dont have a problem, arabic media discuused this clip......

ofcourse we had to types

1) crtisizing the clip for the aim of modernizing the religous speech....which is a good thing.

2) critisizing to ride the tide of western media to show that islam is backward and terrosit and blah blah ........... this will go to the garbage of history.
the second type are iggnorent of historical and religous importance of islamic speech....they just get hysterical when they see a bearded man speeking. its like when a theif sees a policeman.
here I am not emplying that people who dont carry a religous life are bad.....but sometimes people who fight any religous speech seem satanical.

3) we are not talking about a piller of islam its a minor issue that all people can discuss with open mindedness ....not for people full of hate to discuss and to reach political aims and settlmental aims.........like the archeological politicians that dig everywhere.

Shame on you, and get a life!

so because I dont agree with how most people here precieve things I should get a life? or should I as the prophet hadith says....

"Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] had said, "The nations will gather against you like those who are invited to a feast while they are starving." The companions asked, "Is this going to occur when we will be few in number?" The messenger of God (PBUH) replied "No, you will be in large numbers, but you will be like the foam, that floats on the ocean. Your enemies will no longer fear you. The wahm will be in your heart." They asked what is wahm? He replied, "The love of this life and fear of death.""

So get a life!

example

AN nappy as usual has nothing to say except referring to false information and people of the like of wafa sultan ( Lacoste logo ) ,,,, and other receivers of cash from ceremonies and college speeches.

Mosers must die....

Rabbi Rozen was not appreciative of Peace Now’s work. He says, possibly about matters concerning another settlement:

"Such tale-bearing is known in Hebrew as 'moser' (informer)… Individuals who have sunk to this lowest level of behavior were despised and shunned (in Jewish tradition). They are considered worse than

heretics or apostates," wrote the rabbi in an article published in "Shabbat BeShabbato", a leaflet distributed in Israeli synagogues weekly.

Rozen wrote that, according to halacha (Jewish law) the punishment of such tale-bearing was death.

________________

ofcourse memritv....which cliams to represent the middle east through its name.....(middle east media research )

ofcourse I dont expect memri to cover this issue by rabbi israel or other rabbies that call palestenians genitials or subhumens........and their life is worthless....and I dont expect aidah...which cares about get a life and cant be diifrent than the mainstream to cover these things........ no one will fight agianst his interests....but bieng truley rational and independent is facing things on both sides....take the story from both sides.

and as of today I will call memeri ( Gentile media research institute ........donate please ) GMRI

Above are two examples of "arabians" grammatically correct posts - as opposed to his usual FAKE misspelled, grammatically incorrect posts.

What happened "arabian"? You FAKE, PHONEY, FRAUD, but TRUE SHARMUTA?.

Fortunately ...... this issue wont end like the The pied piper of hamelin ending.

here is a video where everything is cleared by the shiekh himself.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkAepzH8NE0

as to aidah or anyone else....lets make it clear.

ofcourse sheikh munjid is not saudi, he is syrian, but ....as bin laden is from yemen. but neverthless this is not important.

some people have big minds but when islam is the topic they peddle backwards and become arrogant.

as to Aidah and others on her boat..

""(40) Those who, if We give them power in the land, establish worship and pay the poor-due and enjoin kindness and forbid iniquity. And Allah's is the sequel of events. (41) If they deny thee (Muhammad), even so the folk of Noah, and (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud, before thee, denied (Our messengers); (42) And the folk of Abraham and the folk of Lot; (43) (And) the dwellers in Midian. And Moses was denied; but I indulged the disbelievers a long while, then I seized them, and how (terrible) was My abhorrence!""

if you are muslims....then you have to know that saudia has to be religous and inforce shariee law ..... if you are not muslims then saudia is not a land for not muslims to critisize.

and thanx for memri for playing fair..

eddie hussian obamba......this is normal when using keyboards.....but writing on paper is always the same.
