Paul Larudee of the International Solidarity Movement and a bunch of other radical Leftist and Islamist groups, along with the complicity of the local longshoremen's union, managed to shut down the port of Oakland, California as they targeted a Zim ship to prevent offloading. (Actually, they only managed to prevent to offloading of a Chinese ship. The Zim didn't come in until later. Oops.)

Zombie has the initial report, including photos and video: Radicals, Islamists and Longshoremen blockade Israeli ship in Oakland

It's open season out there. I would think the organizers would be subject to some sort of civil (if not criminal) lawsuit, but this never seems to happen.

That's my town! We eat social justice for breakfast. Everyday!

I take exception to some reports that longshoremen's union was compliccit in this action. From what I've seen reported, the union members invoked the health & safety provisions of their contract, being concerned about their safety in confronting this militant mob and not wanting "fist fights".

The protest organizers intentionally use the misleading 'picket line' misnomer so as to invoke boycott association, rather than this being just another protest by the same assorted anarchists and professional revolutionaries hanging around the town for years.

OK, so they're not complicit, just cowards. The picket signs clearly had no labor affiliation, just markings of the usual ragtag racists and anarchists. I'm sure the stevedores knew they were not crossing a legitimate picket line; just intimidated by a haggle of goons.
