Arafat Advisor: 'I think that (Arafat) planned an armed Intifada'

The following are excerpts from an interview with Yasser Arafat's political advisor, Mamdouh Noufal which was aired on Al-Jazeera TV on September 28, 2005:

I think that (Arafat) planned an armed Intifada. He nurtured its militarization right from the start, because he thought that through militarization he could pressure Barak and later Sharon and force them to make concessions. He thought that there might be international intervention like in the Battle of the Tunnel, in the days of Netanyahu.

Someone should tell Sabeel.

Only thing is the transcript and video are only that 1 part. I would want to see the prior questions and discussion before and after this...

Also, who is this guy and what is history as a PLO official?
Someone who is considered by Israeli to be a sensible legit person behind the scenes or what?

I think his named is spelled differently perhaps? Here is a google search that comes up with a lot of information and his own website with 'his writings' apparently? Assuming they are the same person.

Looks like the same guy. Sometimes those differences in spelling make things confusing.
