Ariel Sharon has 'significant stroke'

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon suffered a "significant stroke" on Wednesday and is under sedation and receiving breathing assistance while being treated, said a hospital official.

Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will temporarily assume Sharon's powers, Cabinet secretary Israel Maimon said.

Reports say he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, or bleeding inside his brain. An Israeli media report says Sharon is suffering paralysis in his lower body...

I am sure our main stream media will prominently display the inevitable images of Palestinians celebrating the stroke suffered by Prime Minister Sharon. Right after they give an in depth coverage to the beheading of a teacher in Afghanistan guilty of (horrors) educating girls.

The Greek tragedy gets worse.
Hours before he was scheduled to go in for surgery to repair the tiny hole in his heart from birth.....
I heard the fact that he was on blood thinners may have contributed to it... ie, this may have not been a stroke due to a clot but the opposite.
G-d willing he will only be paralyzed and will regain full brain function.

In Israel the country with the quickest, best and most responsive doctors and trauma units they can't even rush the PM to the nearest hospital after he already suffered 1 stroke a few weeks ago.. they took him to Jerusalem instead.

This is an absolute disaster for Israel internally but perhaps even more so externally... nobody else can command the respect inside and outside Israel and keep a step ahead than Arik.

Bibi is a self promoting arrogant guy who pisses everyone off and loves to hear himself speak. He's charismatic and very intelligent, but a leader who can hold all sides together, he ain't.

A sad day indeed.

Oh, by the way Channel 4 NBC had on Henry Siegman, the NY Times Jerusalem based ultra lib on to talk about Sharon.... he carped on about how Sharon "how the Palestinians are now in total disarray, and Sharon was always elusive about giving any concrete details about his painful compromises"

NO SHIT YOU FIN CLUELESS LEFT WING IDIOT... THAT'S BCS ANY DETAILS BECOME A FLOOR FOR THE NEXT TIME YOU TALK... WITH NO MEETING EVERY 1/4 OF THE WAY.

When I staggered down and flipped on the TV, BBC World screen ribbon was showing "PM suffers massive stroke". I was punching the air, migraine forgotten, until I realised it wasn't Blair after all. But as they say in the Daily Mirror: "One down, three to go." I realise you shouldn't speak ill of the nearly dead, but surely there has to be some latitude. Looks like Bennie the Bomber's next in line for Admiral.
