In reading Geras and Phillips one gains insight, perspective and well tempered evaluations. In reading Oestreicher a low level revulsion sets in, his superficial analysis reveals a guile laden artifice used to secure mendacious and ultimately malevolent effect; his self-congratulatory and self-authorizing tone only serves to further repulse and to further underscore the anemic quality of his moralistic cant.
