Congratulations to Andrew Whitehead of Anti-CAIR who has come to an undisclosed settlement with the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) in their lawsuit against him. Whitehead says "The policies and procedures of Anti-CAIR (ACAIR) have not changed in any way as a result of the CAIR lawsuit settlement," so that must be considered a victory. It sounds as though that, as the Islamic Society of Boston has discovered, the lawsuit itself was going to turn up some uncomfortable facts about the plaintiff. That's the trouble with libel cases I guess, if you win, great, but if you lose, you've likely made it worse for yourself since it then appears that what was said was true (even if all it was was "not libelous"), and in the discovery process, the defendent can get a lot of material made public -- a messy affair.

Apparently you can now make the statement in the title of this post without serious fear of litigation.

Except I wonder what the terms of the "settlement" were. What, if anything, did Mr. Whitehead have to give up? A settlement usually implies that both sides gave up something.

Well, they could have agreed to just fuhgetaboutit, walk away, everyone swallows their own court fees and can't talk about it...pretend it was all a bad dream.

Although I do wonder why they'd need to agree not to disclose the terms if they were indeed so simple.

Pipes has a recent entry on his blog about CAIR and their lawsuit strategy.

"The current issue of the Arab American News (undated on the website) quotes the new head of CAIR's Michigan office, Dawud Walid, saying that under his tenure, CAIR's approach will be focused on the principle that "education is superior to litigation." Does this suggest a change for the organization as a whole or just that one branch? To be watched."

I was not aware of this situation. However, I thank God for people that still care about this great country USA and spaek-up against this lefthiest or whatever you wish to call them, that are selling our country and are the reason to why american are hated everywhere. Do not blame the president, blame jimmy carter, kennedy Inc, jessy jackson, hilary, all those people are against our values.
