Please forgive me for being a pest... but this became a pet peeve of mine when I served in the IDF.
As far as I'm concerned, they're not "girl soldiers". They're women. They're old enough to wear the uniform, old enough to vote, old enough to shoulder an automatic weapon, old enough to fight and die for their country -- and as such, by my lights, they've earned the right to have outgrown the title "girl".
That's just my own personal mishugas, of course; your mileage may vary.
