Read his piece on Bunglawala and it's very thoughtful and good. Wonder how much traffic he gets there? Wonder if any of his students (he does teach at BU?) read his blog?
His closing that the Reuters employee can praise the "bashing of Catholicism" (certainly the questioning of some of its core historical story imo) while bashing the Islamophobes for publishing the Mohammed cartoons.
He of course missed 1 other point that the guy was trying to 'make friends' with the Christians while reviewing it in an attempted "intelligent mild discussion" while of course not trying to bridge anything with the "evil enemies" the Joooos....
Would be interesting to see him review a movie about Mohammed and the history of Islam in such a "removed intelligent" fashion?
Can you fing imagine the worldwide stink and potential violence if a movie was made about a much milder book that questioned a lot of the central story of Mohammed and the Koran's accepted versions?
Ie... how about Mohammed growing up next to a Rabbi, slaughtering a whole tribe of Jews bcs they wouldn't convert to Islam, growing up in a Jewish city - Medina, never ever going to Jerusalem and the Syrians naming the conquered Hill Al Asqua after building Dome of the Rock over the Church there 20-40 years after Mohammed died... or if that's too "zionistic" for you then how about the nice way Islam was spread into Asia.... since most Muslims ACTUALLY believe it was spread through a benevolent mystical realization of the pagans coming to the 'real way'.
