Dershowitz in Frontpage:

...Husseini planned a death camp for Jews modeled on Auschwitz, to be located in Nablus. He broadcast on Nazi Radio, calling for genocide against all the world's Jews: "kill the Jews wherever you find them--this pleases God, history, and religion." Professor Edward Said has acknowledged that this Nazi collaborator and genocidal anti-Semite "represented the Palestinian Arab consensus" and was "the voice of the Palestinian people." Yasser Arafat referred to Husseini as "our hero."

Never before or since in world history has a tyrannical regime sought to murder all of the members of a particular racial, religious, ethnic or cultural group, regardless of where they live--not until now. Hezbollah's aim is not to "end the occupation of Palestine," or even to "liberate all of Palestine." Its goal is to kill the world's Jews. Listen to the words of its leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah: "If Jews all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide." (NY Times, May 23, 2004, p. 15, section 2, column 1.) Nasrallah is one of the most admired men in the Muslim and Arab world today. Hitler made similar threats in Mein Kampf but they were largely ignored. Nasrallah has a reputation for keeping his promises.

His genocidal goals--to kill all Jews--were proven by two recent statements. He has warned the Arabs and Muslims to leave Haifa so that his rockets can kill only Jews. And he apologized for causing the deaths of three Israeli-Arabs in Nazareth, when a Katuysha struck that religiously mixed Israeli city. Hezbollah also worked hand-in-hand with Argentine neo-Nazis to blow up a Jewish community center, murdering dozens of Jews.

Nasrallah is a modern day Hitler, who currently lacks the capacity to carry out his genocide...

The rest.

What are we to make of poor Chris Wallace's suicidal father, Mike, who swoons at Ahmadinejad's charisma?

Too bad for the Islamofascists that...

the Israelis are NOT the unarmed Jews of WW2 Europe.

the Israelis are NOT the unarmed Jews of Khaybar.

The prominence of the lineage, via the Muslim Brotherhood and the Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin al-Husseini, is striking: an unambiguously direct and unmistakable 20th century historical lineage. Directly between al-Husseini and Arafat for example.

And yet, has there ever been a prominent PBS, MSM, etc. documentary or expose´ covering this subject? Have never heard or seen one. Not one.

Michael B., believe it or not, I think there actually is a PBS documentary that covers Al Husseini. I've not seen it, but I do think it exists.

Well, there are different al Husseinis, even Yassar Arafat's given name was al Husseini (Mohammed Yasser Abdul-Ra'ouf Qudwa al-Husseini). There were also a couple of prominent Palestinian ministers or spokesmen named al Husseini. These people show up at sites like PBS, the BBC, etc. However, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin al-Husseini, doesn't show up in terms of documentaries, nor in other terms.

It could be out there, though it's such a strikingly salient and recent historical artifact and lineage that the very fact we are left to wonder about this is itself indicative of a prominent absence. Imagine if this same Grand Mufti, with his direct and enthusiastic lineage to Himmler, Hitler, etc., were a mentor of a recent Republican politician, or even a prominent European politician; does anyone believe this would be made prominent, via documentaries and other vehicles? But since it's Arafat and the "Palestinians" in general, it's swept under the rug, obscured, elided, occluded from the discussion in any prominent sense.

No, the absence of this is meaningful in and of itself. Even if it exists in some obscure corner, the very fact it's not prominent and far better known would be indicative of this same deliberate, this same willful and studied avoidance.

A few months ago I did see a program that focused on husenni and his close ties with nazi Germany on the History Channel. Movies of him reviewing the "troops" and much more.

Thanks Eddie, and while something is better than nothing at all, what I am looking for is a prominent documentary which traces it up to our contemporary situation, and substantively details the direct historical, cultural, political, ideological ties to the current ethos which is still prominent in "Palestinian" and the broader Arab society. This is more than an abstract or "interesting" historical artifact, it's highly relevant and in fact probative in a much more contemporary sense.

A good weekend and week to all.
