SF Weekly profiles take-no-prisoners activist, Lee Kaplan: Disturbing the Peace - The local conversation between pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian activists is getting less civil every day. And Lee Kaplan's tactics aren't helping.
Of course, it's tough to see how Lee Kaplan could make things any worse, seeing as the "pro-Palestinian" crowd is for the destruction of the State of Israel. To the extent that things are civil, it's a facade, and one that Lee Kaplan revels in tearing the mask off of.
An interesting tid-bit in the article: Readers may recall the puff-piece published in the Contra Costa Times about an ISM activist named Paul Larudee who "was in Israel primarily to practice his trade as a piano tuner": Israel attempts to deport California man. Well we knew at the time that that was silly, and this article, which quotes Larudee, confirms it:
Note this:
To Larudee or from Larudee? Isn't it illegal to change your name to avoid legal consequences? I suppose not in a foreign country. Well, his picture accompanies the article, Israeli Customs take note.
Lee Kaplan:
I love Lee Kaplan's work! Nobody shows the phony
"peace activists" ("suicide bombings are legitimate resistance") clowns in the ISM the light of day like Kaplan does. That's why they hate him. Keep up the great work against these
wannabe revolutionaries and their Arab buddies
who hate America and Israel!
