Separately. Robert Spencer will be on CSpan tonight at 8PM Eastern.

Franck Salameh will be on Fox's The Big Story at 10PM Eastern [via IsraPundit]

Well, Franck Salameh nver appeared on Fox's Big Story. He was pre-empted possibly because they devoted so much time to the "breaking" story of Jon Benet's killer flying into the US to go to trial. Ugh! Their idea of important news! They even reported what he was eating while flying in first class. Who cares?

But Robert Spencer did appear on CSpan, and I was impressed by Spencer and the interviewer. Spencer was articulate and convincing. The interviewer was fair and yet did not shy away from hard questions. Altogether, a very rewarding hour.

Yeah, that was too bad about Salameh.

Spencer was good. It was interesting the way the interviewer seemed to be trying to get at something about the two producers of the film but could never come right out and say what his point was.

I had a similar feeling about the interviewer, C-Span's head honcho, Brian Lamb, a man of the right who is normally as "fair and balanced" as a human being can be. Maybe he was merely playing the devil's advocate?

I think Brian Lamb was playing devil's advocate.

Lamb listened politely and patiently to Spencer's responses and didn't contradict him or belittle his answers. Also, there was a curious thing about the points with which Lamb challenged Spencer. They were statements from places like Islam.alt or Muslum.alt, not exactly authoritative sources. Is it possible that there were no reactions to the film by scholars or journalists?

Also, all the objections were really nothing more than personal smears or speculation about motives. I don't remember what the criticisms were of the producers, but I do remember that they were feeble and irrelevant. And the point about Shoebat's conversion being too quick and extreme...what was that about? The conversion was obviously sincere, and what does the objector's point say the veracity of Shoebat's statements? None of the objections dealt with the substance of what Spencer (and Shoebat Be'at Or, et. al.) had to say.
