The cycle of violence continues. It couldn't be "occupation" could it? They must want something: Gaza: 4 Palestinians killed by gunmen
VIDEO - Four Palestinians were killed and many others were injured on Monday when gunmen opened fire on a civilian car traveling in the Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City.
Security officials said the incident is part of the ongoing power struggle between Hamas and Fatah, especially as three of the victims are the children of a senior Palestinian Authority intelligence officer.
The children were said to be aged between six and nine. The officer was identified as Baha Ba'alousha, who escaped an attempt on his life in September.
Hamas gunmen were the main suspects.
On Sunday, gunmen opened fire on the motorcade of Palestinian Minister of the Interior, Said Sayyam.
Officials fear the incidents could be the beginning of a new wave of street confrontations between Hamas and Fatah...
Fatah, founded by Arafat four-plus decades ago, has been a proxie of Syria, has been dedicated to Israel's annihilation since its founding.
Hamas, founded two decades ago by the Muslim Brotherhood, has been a proxie of Iran, dedicated to the elimination of Israel (generally under the rubric of the "liberation" of "Palestine") since its founding, had previously received funding from Saddam Hussein & Sons, Inc.
The desiderata of internecine power conflicts, of nihilistic interests, at least so for most all practical intents and purposes.
And this too, in the long view of things, reflects why the Iraq initiative was critically and strategically important. There will be fits and starts and hard lessons learned via personal/individual tragedies, but as with any war some amount of that is inevitable. As to Gaza, Hamas, Fatah, etc., etc., yet again Israel serves as the positive and even illuminating example and the coal miner's canary; not the perfect or perfectly unblemished example, but the positive example and stark contrast nonetheless.
