Sorry for the lack of posts, busy and all.

Tomorrow, the radical group Wheels of Justice is scheduled to appear in several different Andover High School Social Studies classes to address the students -- with one outside observer (who may be friendly to the Wheels) and no recording devices allowed, begging the question: If there's nothing to hide, why the secrecy? Not surprisingly, a growing chorus of outraged parents is beginning to sing and direct their ire at the the responsible school officials and teachers, as well as the group itself which has foisted itself using legal threats and intimidation on a community that clearly doesn't want them. Of particular interest are union head Tom Meyers and physics teacher Ron Francis who have pushed the issue and forced town officials to weigh concern for education next to a protracted legal fight that would cost thousands of dollars out of strapped school budgets -- so deep is the care Francis and Meyers have for students that this legal blackmail is a small price to pay in their minds for the opportunity to push their political agendas on kids.

A source in the school tells me that Ron Francis left "little nasties" in all the teachers' mailboxes this morning (an essay entitled "Indeed There Is Apartheid in Israel"). The missive was unsigned, but Francis was spotted in the building VERY early. Perhaps it wasn't Francis who distributed the note, perhaps it was Heinrich, the monocled Flier Fairy who did it.

Once upon a time, teachers understood a word called "propriety," and outraged parents with pitch forks weren't required to do their own hall monitoring. Now, the Andover School Committee is mulling some sort of "outside speaker policy" to avoid legal battles and give them some better legal footing for the future. One cannot blame the committee for not already having such a policy as such a thing is almost without precedent. Francis and Meyers (and the ACLU's slavering willingness to serve them) are peerless for their arrogance and narcissism. "Propriety" isn't in their vocabularies. Society's day-to-day forms of behavior break down in the face of the sociopath.

Tomorrow evening there will be a second forum in Andover run by Wheels of Justice and that one will be open to the public. The exact format is unclear at this time, but it should be an interesting day...and evening.

Update: It strikes me that this would be an appropriate time to remind folks of some of the stuff that I wrote about in a posting from November 3. There's stuff there that may still be interesting if you didn't see it at the time, but here's a snip: Andover High Update -- Teachers Union and ACLU Dictate Curriculum

A couple of our freelance Solomonia operatives happened to have seen and spoken with Ron Francis while Francis was out campaigning for his divestment questions in Somerville this past week. For Francis, the disruption in the High School is a small price to pay for furthering his activism. He's quite pleased with trouble he's stirred and the 'profit' it's bringing him. Here's what our correspondents have related:
...I asked Francis about the Andover ordeal, at which point he and John [Spritzler] gleamed and thanked me for the free publicity... many students are approaching him and are asking about Palestinians and why there was all this hoopla...

"So now I get to talk to them about Palestinians and they trust me because I am their favorite teacher. They know I would not lie. As a physicist, I can talk to them scientifically."...

...When Francis was thanking me for the free publicity he and the WoJ got in the media, he lost his cool, and started bragging about his indoctrination of the students at AHS, saying that it would have been better for our side to just let the WoJ in, and be done with it. Because now, he said, there are enough students and teachers who are outraged and want to know "the truth" -- and guess who is going to deliver "the truth" to them? You guessed it -- the virtuous, righteous Dr. Francis, of course...

Solomon,

I'd like to get in touch with you, and I'd like permission to use an image in the Jewish Journal Boston North.
