Interesting move by Hillary: Senator Clinton To Join With Palestinian Media Watch To Release New Report On Continuing Anti-Israel Bias In Palestinian Textbooks

Washington, DC - On Thursday, February 8, 2007, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will join with Palestinian Media Watch Director Itamar Marcus and Associate Director Barbara Crook, to release a new report detailing the continuing anti-Israel bias in school textbooks produced by the Palestinian Authority.

The report; “From Nationalist Battle to Religious Conflict: New 12th Grade Palestinian Textbooks Present a World Without Israel”, was written by PMW Director Itamar Marcus and Associate Director Barbara Crook, and analyzes eight textbooks released at the end of 2006...

She still makes me cringe, though.

Just out of curiousity, what's a "reprot"?

;-)

It should make you cringe. This strikes me as a transparent bid for Jewish votes. At least it's better than her falling back on claiming a Jewish step- grandfather, or whatever that was.

Regardless of motive, this is something that other pols are not doing, though it's certainly the type of thing a Giuliani could be expected to do. It was Giuliani who kicked Arafat out of Lincoln Center several years ago. If that's the type of thing, in terms of potential political opposition, that is helping to motivate Hillary, more power to the Giulianis of the world as the primary motivators.

Joanne - I bet whatever she does would make you cringe (even when she is doing the right thing).

The step-grandfather comment is a fallacious argument - argument by rhetorical question which merely directs the reader to the answer you want. Off course outing "Palestinian" anti-Semitism is good - it's surely better than looking for Jewish votes or mentioning a Jewish relative.

Is this the equation then? Hillary hatred = good for the country because she is a [insert disparaging remark].

I don't know if you are a W supporter but think about Hillary hatred the next time you hear/read about unfounded Bush hatred. - change the names see what happens. IMO, the names will be interchangeable and both hatreds show something about the person delivering that message.

Also, as noted in a separate comment - Hilary is the only pol out there looking at this issue.

You assume too much "visiting."

That's right, Solomon, way too much. I'm a liberal Democrat. Even more to the left, a social democrat. But that doesn't mean that I can't have ambivalent feelings about Hilary Clinton. Altogether, I don't know how I feel about her.

If she were the Democratic candidate running for president, I'd vote for her. But then, I'd vote for Br'er Rabbit over a Republican. Unless that was a liberal Republican, but I think they're extinct now.

Joanne: There are plenty of liberal Republicans out there. Rudy Giuliani is a good example: conservative on national security, pretty liberal on domestic issues.

And I guess I have about the opposite reaction from yours. To me, Hillary is as poll-driven and as shallow in substance as her husband ever was -- but she's more ambitious than him, more tightly wound-up, and lacking his charm and his people-skills.

I don't see ANY of those as encouraging. I see a Hillary Clinton presidency as one in which she'd pursue her own ambition, look for an enduring legacy, and conduct foreign policy based on the latest polls.

Heck, if the option existed, I'd vote for Bill Clinton (again) before I'd vote for Hillary. At least he could be distracted from his agenda by sex; I doubt Hillary can.

Sol: don't let Hillary's current actions fool you. She's still the First Lady who kissed Suha Arafat. And even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

I agree that if she gets this out from under the covers it is a good thing, especially in light of the latest story out of London about what is being taught to 4 and 5 year olds at a RoP school.

My only uncertainty is whether the MSM will give her sufficient bandwidth on this issue.

Hillary in 08!!

One of the lefty Jewish bloggers conmmented on my blog "Rudy might have made a couple of gestures pissing off a guy in kaffiyeh or two, but hillary is doing the real dirty work."

It is to laugh. Rudy kicks Arafat out of NYC and gives a Saudi prince back $1 million and puts the city back together after 9-11. Hil holds a press conference. But she's doing the dirty work. Thus we have "Jews for Hillary." Nice try folks.

Yehudit, it was $10 million dollars that Rudy rejected from the smirking Prince Tawil as he surveyed the WTC site after 9/11.

Rudy Giuliani AKHBAR!
