This is just a quick link to follow -- an "aside." These are links to interesting things that, for one reason or another, I didn't place into a full posting. Click the link to visit the full article. Go to the blog index for a regular listing of posts.
Haaretz: Gaza militants fire Qassam rocket, mortar rounds at Israel - 'Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip on Sunday fired two mortar rounds at Israel Defense Forces soldiers near the border, Israel Radio reported. A Qassam rocket hit the western Negev earlier on Sunday. There were no casualties or damages reported in either incident on Sunday...'
Additionally, I've read one or two reports that indicated - in the immediate wake of John Kerry's visit to Bashar Assad in Syria and Obama's own overtures to Iran - that there have been a couple of rockets fired from southern Lebanon into northern Israel.
(Obama's nods to Iran have been partially attenuated by some more firm statements by Biden at a recent security conference in Munich, but only partially imo given the overall tone and the missteps in general evidenced by appointees, politicos such as Kerry, Ellison, et al., etc.)
