Dexter Van Zile: Mennonites against Israel - '...The inability of Mennonite peace activists to take seriously Muslim and Arab hostility toward Israel and Jews is no accident, but a consequence of Anabaptist theology, namely its utopian reliance on nonresistance as a response to evil. Because Anabaptist theology regards nonresistance as the sine qua non of the Christian faith, it leaves its adherents without a credible response to fascist and totalitarian movements that periodically arise in human history...'
Thanks for this...
Dear sir,
I am a Mennonite, have been for 40 years. I listened to part of a commentary on your position in regard to Mennonites and their stance toward Israel. I think that you were being too kind. The official position of most Mennonite conferences have been anti-Israeli , pro Palestinian, pro anything but Israeli for a number of years. Although it would be hard to nail this down, it is easy to see in their actions. The problem as I see it is their so called passive, non-violent approach to everything based on humanistic belief system. They reject scripture as a basis for their belief system and are willing to compromise anything for temporary peace. They also reject the view that God is sovereign and has made promises that He will keep in regard to Israel. It will be difficult for them when they find themselves on the wrong side of the fence. It is good to hear a voice telling the truth.
