This is just a quick link to follow -- an "aside." These are links to interesting things that, for one reason or another, I didn't place into a full posting. Click the link to visit the full article. Go to the blog index for a regular listing of posts.

Ben Nelson Trying to Control the Damage - 'Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson and his wife were leaving dinner at a new pizza joint near their home in Omaha one night last week when a patron began complaining about Nelson’s decisive vote in favor of the Senate’s health care bill. Other customers started booing. A woman yelled, “Get him the hell out of here!” And the Nelsons and their dining companions beat a hasty retreat. “It was definitely a scene in there,” said Tom Lewis...' [Well deserved.]

Well-deserved? To be sure. But still not a good idea. Nappy doesn't like mobocracy. Booing may be defensible, but shouting "Get him the Hell out of here" does more harm than good.

I think I am going to disagree with you on this. We're not talking about some little random issue known only to a few people here. These Washington types are so out of touch I think it's not such a bad thing for them to get an occasional reminder by facing the ire of the hoi polloi once in awhile. Good wake up call for him. Elections for Senate are once every 6 years. He needs to be held accountable more frequently than that.

The most convincing "boo" is a resounding defeat at the polls.
