This is just a quick link to follow -- an "aside." These are links to interesting things that, for one reason or another, I didn't place into a full posting. Click the link to visit the full article. Go to the blog index for a regular listing of posts.
Liberal Media Conspired to Kill Stories About Jeremiah Wright - '...This might be the most significant story of the Obama presidency. In fact, it is the story of Obama's presidency: the liberal media conspired to carry water for a candidate with few qualifications--suddenly, being a community organizer was the apex of a resume--for the nation's highest office. In fact, the liberal media volunteered to serve as footstool to an Alinsky thug who is now driving America to Socialism and fiscal insolvency...'
How insane can these rabbis be? Charles Jacobs is a vitally needed Paul Revere rousing the world to a more insidious and evil danger than the colonial revolutionaries ever faced.
The presidency as door-to-door salesman, as door-to-door salesman extraordinaire. The artifice of rhetorical and political machinations thrown-in as well, however, essentially, we have a highly accomplished door-to-door salesman performing in the office of the presidency.
Moreso than "community organizer," that is the essential conception - not a mere title - to confer upon the current POTUS.
The obverse side of that same coin, the enabling and necessary side of that same coin, is the fact that the current generation is arguably the most credulous generation this country has ever known, bar none. "Educated" in pretensions, in posturings and affectations in general - though in point of fact indoctrinated along ideological and self-regarding lines, along the lines of a profoundly incurious anthropocentrism.
Hence and thus. Hence one can veiw ex cathedra pronouncements posing as ex datis and responsibly considered arguments. Thus one can view incomprehension when the same type of mind is confronted with coherent and cogent counter-arguments. Hence sophistries, blatant elisions and evasions, etc. posing as serious forms of argumentation as well. Thus the commonly accepted notion (and it is a notion only, not a coherent idea), that "critical thinking" is the ability to forward facile forms of dismissive contempt against "conservatives" (most always in irony or sneer quotes), but never against prevailing, politically correct and presumptively "progressive" conceptions. Etc.
None of that reflects a mere cynicism, none of it; it is all too apt, all too apposite and descriptive.
