This is just a quick link to follow -- an "aside." These are links to interesting things that, for one reason or another, I didn't place into a full posting. Click the link to visit the full article. Go to the blog index for a regular listing of posts.
The role of information in American "Islamophobia" - '... it's possible that, especially with the Ground Zero Mosque controversy, America's view of American Muslims has changed since 9/11. The attacks of that day were launched from a far away place, and seemed to come from the hands of an enemy with no relationship to American Muslims. Since then, we have learned that the radical ideology behind 9/11 is not quite as alien as we thought. Some portion of the American Muslim community - presumably small, but we don't know how small - is drawn to it. Moreover, what looks like a considerable portion of those who hold themselves out (and are held out by the MSM) as leaders of American Muslims refuse to disassociate themselves from terrorist groups. They don't countenance al Qaeda, though they do blame America for that outfit's terrorist acts. But they won't repudiate other bloody terrorists, notably Hamas...'
The real issue is: the wisdom of allowing large numbers of muslims to immigrate to our country. That is the real question at hand. I say no; Islam is anti-thetical to Western and American values, traditions, laws, etc.
The solution? Stop or at least, greatly reduce Mohammedan immigration. Period.
Indeed gsr.
And further to the Article, the more people learn about Islam from earnest study. The more anti Islam they become. The rising opposition to Mosques especially those funded by foreigners and big money donors and Muslim Brotherhood being allowed operate freely in this country...is a sign that people are learning about Islam....not a kneejerk response to 9/11 by mobs with pitchforks. Violence against Muslims remains low, but opposition to Islam is climbing.
I think we are seeing a significant shift underway. This is very good news for Western Civilization and its peoples.
So far just occassional legislative successes in Europe, and often focussing on the window dressing of Islam and not directly challenging Islam itself...but the trend is clear. The West isnt going down without a fight.
